Take Home Instructions

If you haven't already, visit www.redspringfarm.com/new-owners-page. Make sure to take a peek.

1) Selection Day
Harper's, Ginger, AND Lucy's Litter: Feb 19th
Scout AND Layla's Litter: Feb 26th

Puppy selections are done remotely (NOT in person) in the order of the reservation list.

To make your selection, your family must create a list from your first pick puppy to last pick puppy from all of the puppies in this litter. You must email it to me no later than 6PM on selection day. Pupdates, photos, videos, and 5 week temperament testing is provided on the litter page to help you with your decision, and of course I am available to discuss any additional questions. Please try to email me any questions by the following evening so that I have time to respond to everyone (if you have lots of questions, do not hesitate to number them and shoot them all to me in one email, then I can knock them all out at once)!

I will begin at the 1st family on the reservation list, assign them the next available puppy that is highest on their selection list, and then move on to the next family's list and repeat the process. I will continue in this manner until everyone has a puppy.

If you fail to submit your selection list and cannot be contacted via the phone number submitted on your application, this will result in your name being moved to the bottom of the reservation list. This date is posted well in advance on the litter page, and it is your responsibility to reach out to us with your decision!

2) Final Payments/Contracts

We only accept deposits virtually. Final payments are to be paid in full via check and mailed to our home (no online or bank-to-bank transactions, sorry). Please do so ASAP so that it has plenty of time to arrive (don't want it to get caught up due to COVID delays and weather delays... it is icy up here). Remember to deduct the $200 deposit from the final payment amount. Please reach out if it is not possible for you to mail a check.

Please make checks payable to Red Spring Farm LLC and can be mailed to (email me for address).

Typically, contracts are signed at pickup. To prevent unnecessary contact on pickup day (due to COVID), I am attaching a copy of our contract. Please print it out, initial each section, sign the bottom of each page and mail it to us with your final payment check. I will provide you with a Red Spring Farm signed copy in your go-home folder that has all the puppy information, spay neuter dates, etc. and you can complete it with your signature at home.

Coronavirus Protocols

I hope that this makes sense to everyone. If I am not clear, please let me know and I will try to clarify.

Take Home Day used to be done as a big group in our home (I called pickups a Puppy Party)! Unfortunately COVID-19 has forced us to make some changes for our 2020/21 litters. To insure the safety of our family and all the other families taking home a pup, we will be doing curbside, "no-contact" puppy pickups. We are lucky to have a large driveway, so we can have 7 vehicles arrive at one time with plenty of distance in-between. Please remain in your vehicle until I check in with you. I will bring your puppy and go-home pack to you. At that time, may exit your vehicle to meet your pup, stretch your legs, and wave at the other families and pups (from a distance). If you might have come in contact with someone who has COVID-19, or are experiencing symptoms such as cough, fever, shortness of breath, or loss of smell, please contact me immediately, before arriving at my property.

#1 Rule on Take Home Day: MASKS ARE MANDATORY ON MY PROPERTY.
Unless you are in your vehicle with the doors and windows fully closed, you must have a mask on.

Take Home Day Reminders:
1) I invite EVERYONE to arrive at 11AM on pickup day. If you cannot make this time, please reach out and confirm your different pickup time.
2) To prevent deadly canine viruses (such as parvo) from entering our home, please:
-Clear the bottom of your shoes of all debris and sanitize the tread with a bleach product before your visit.
-Do not visit any pet stores, dog parks, vets, or others areas where dogs congregate leading up to your visit.
-As much as we would love to meet your current pets, please do NOT bring any other pets when you visit.
We really appreciate you taking these steps to keep our precious babies SAFE!
3) Remember to pack these items to make your trip home with your new puppy easier:
-Towels or blankets to cover your seats and to hold the puppy in your lap with
-Paper towels, Clorox wipes, and baby wipes
-A water bottle and small Tupperware container with a lid to use as a bowl
-A lightweight leash (non-retractable, dollar store leashes are perfect!)

4) Snuggle Puppy Orders
If you would like to order your puppy a snuggle puppy (or anything else), please order one directly off of Amazon.com or Chewy.com and mail it to my address (email for address). I will include it in your puppy packet. PLEASE include your name as the recipient of any item that you order so that I know who it belongs to!

*This video is several years old. The take home location is incorrect (it was our last address before we moved to Virginia).
It is pretty boring and some information is a little out of date as we have adjusted our rearing practices, but there is some great information as well and hopefully you find that it is worth your time!
