A "Pupdate" for you!
Update- All pups had "PERFECT" vet exams on 12/23- the only note was Pink's slight underbite :)
Weights to be updated after vet appointment on 12/23/21... however, all pups are very close in weight, with generally only 1/2-3/4lb difference between the largest and smallest. Over the weekend they were all right under 3lb. Lime and Yellow are typically the smallest, Purple and Blue are typically in the middle, and Pink and Red are the largest (all in that order). There can be some variance on where they fall in that list from day to day, depending on who has just had food/water, or pooped. This is such a small weight distribution that all pups will be in the middle of our expected weight range (I am guessing 16-20lb, maybe a pound or two more as they mature past 2 years and "fill out").
This is a VERY lovely, balanced litter. There is not a wide range of temperaments here, only subtle differences which I will emphasize. None of these pups are exceptionally timid or high energy. This is a great sign that Addie/Rudy are a good match for one another. A nice, balanced litter like this can make puppy selection day difficult for families because there is no obvious right or wrong choice. Please let me know if you need additional information to make your decision, I am more than happy to answer your questions or chat on the phone.
PUPPY SELECTION DAY INFORMATION: I know you have a busy holiday schedule! It sounds like perhaps doing puppy selection day by Christmas would be best so you will know by the next morning (and maybe be able to share the news with some happy kids). Please confirm that you can get your selection list to me via email before Christmas morning- maybe by 8AM? Let me know if this isn't possible for your family. To select your pup, just send me your first and last pick (since there will only be 2 pups to choose from, this shouldn't be too tricky). Please check for vet exam results here on the afternoon of the 23rd before you send me your list- just case there is an abnormality found. You can email your selection list as early as the 23rd after vet exams are posted and if others send it in early as well I will go ahead and post results.
Ms. Purple: Purple is the perfect combination of playful and cuddly! When you hold her and make "kissy noises" her tail wags a million miles an hour. She is very affectionate towards people and other animals (cats and dogs)... she has never met a stranger. She has a tight curly coat!
Ms. Yellow: Don't her doe eyes melt your heart? This sweet baby has a lovely middle of the road disposition. She really enjoys one on one attention and will do well in any sort of home. She has a lush curly coat.
Ms. Pink: Pink has a bigger than life personality- she is goofy, playful, and an all-around sassy little lady. She loves belly rubs. She will thrive in a family atmosphere and will bring her family lots of laughter. She is wavy coated.
Ms. Lime: Lime is the smallest in the bunch. Most of the time she prefers gentle cuddles to actively play, and will bond closely to her family. She is very feminine and petite, and will likely be on the lower end of the weight range in the paragraph above (16lb or so). She has a wavy coat.
Mr. Red: Red is a really fun little guy and has a playful, cuddly temperament. He is the first to greet you in the morning and everyone who meets this litter falls in love with this personable "dood". He already has a thick, luscious curly coat.
Mr. Blue: Blue is the old soul, happy go lucky boy in the bunch with an easy going demeanor. He is a little sweetheart who loves cuddle time and will be very attached to his owner/s. He has a wavy coat and very expressive eyes.

Ms. Purple: N
Ms. Yellow: N
Ms. Pink: N
Ms. Lime: N
Mr. Red: N

[N] or does he just want to be petted [P].
Ms. Purple: N
Ms. Yellow: N
Ms. Pink: N
Ms. Lime: P
Mr. Red: N
Mr. Blue: N

Ms. Yellow: N
Ms. Pink: N
Ms. Lime: N
Mr. Red: N
Mr. Blue: N
4. Call back. Using a treat or squeak toy and calling to the puppy while backing

happily [N] or hesitate and need coaxing [P].
Ms. Purple: N
Ms. Yellow: N
Ms. Pink: N
Ms. Lime: N
Mr. Red: N
Mr. Blue: N

or just relax and let it happen [N].
Ms. Purple: N
Ms. Yellow: N
Ms. Pink: N
Ms. Lime: N
Mr. Red: N
Mr. Blue: N
7. Nose kiss. Cradle your puppy's face in your hands and kiss him on the nose.

Ms. Purple: N
Ms. Yellow: N
Ms. Pink: N
Ms. Lime: N
Mr. Red: N
Mr. Blue: N
8. Toe squeeze. In this exercise, you're testing your puppy's reaction and sensitivity
to discomfort. While petting the puppy, gently squeeze the skin between his toes.
Does he attack your hand. If so, he's definitely an A type personality with high
sensitivity. A neutral puppy may lick or mouth gently, whereas a passive puppy
will cringe fearfully.
Ms. Purple: N
Ms. Yellow: N
Ms. Pink: N
Ms. Lime: N
Mr. Red: N
Mr. Blue: N
9. Startle sound. Take a bunch of keys and when your prospective puppy least

Ms. Purple: N
Ms. Yellow: N
Ms. Pink: N
Ms. Lime: N
Mr. Red: N
Mr. Blue: N
10. Crash test. Stand and wait until your puppy is no longer interested in you.

Ms. Purple: N
Ms. Yellow: N
Ms. Pink: N
Ms. Lime: N
Mr. Red: N
Mr. Blue: N
11. Uplift. Lift the puppy 4 inches off the floor by cradling his midsection. Hold him
there for at few seconds. Does he wriggle and bite furiously [A]? Does he relax
and look around [N]. Does he look nervous and constrict his body posture [P].
Ms. Purple: P (to be honest this isn't really her norm- I wonder if she had to poop HA)
Ms. Yellow: N
Ms. Pink: N
Ms. Lime: N
Mr. Red: N
Mr. Blue: N
All A's: This dominant puppy is bright and interactive. Raising him will take
concentration, consistency and time. His favorite expression is "What's Next!"
All N's: Easy going and contained, this puppy will be pleasant and self-assured, though
perhaps not terribly motivated to follow your agenda when it conflicts with his own. His
favorite expression is "Is it absolutely necessary?"
All P's: This puppy has a weak self-esteem and needs your reassurance to feel safe.
Without proper lessons and socialization, he'll be shy. His favorite expression: "It's been
3 minutes, do you still love me?"
Mix of A and N's: This active puppy will want to be in the middle of everything but will
show slightly more impulse control when stimulated. His favorite expression is: "Let's do
it again"
Mix of N and P's: This self-assured puppy will be easygoing and gentle yet with a
stronger sense of self than a completely passive puppy. Because he's more composed,
he'll be an ideal puppy for a calm house with or without older children.
Favorite expression: "Another back scratching please!"

Thank you so, so, SO very much for your patience while we get back into the groove of things.
Addy and Rudy had 6 gorgeous pups. We haven't given them color ID's yet since all are chubby and healthy (we are monitoring body condition- and thankfully Addie is doing a great job).
Eye openers coming soon! Please check your email for a link to the puppy cam.
