The Breeder
My love for animals of all kinds runs deep, but the care of dogs and puppies has always been my biggest passion. I am a full time dog breeder. I spend all day, every day (and often in the middle of the night too) taking care of the beautiful dogs and puppies at Red Spring Farm. When you decide to purchase a puppy from Red Spring Farm, you are employing me to carefully raise a healthy, well adjusted puppy to be a member of your family for years to come. I take my job very seriously!
I grew up on my family's farm, and I was always surrounded by canine companions (most of whom found us). In my early teens up until my 20's I was heavily involved with rescue/rehab and fostering for the local humane society. I have been the foster mom of countless dogs, and often found myself raising and adopting out litters of unwanted puppies. For many years I was an avid "adopt don't shop" supporter, so I never imagined that I would later enter the world of dog breeding. I went to college at NC State University, first considering pre-veterinary, but I quickly realized that veterinarians spend a portion of their time with humans who do not properly care for their pets, which I couldn't handle. I went back to my roots, and switched my focus to agricultural business. During this time, I retired from dog rescuing as I began to learn that breeding dogs isn't all bad, and realized that doing it the "right" way is beneficial for all parties involved (the dogs, the puppies, the new owners, and the breeder). I finally got my first Goldendoodle, Penny (pictured), while I was in college. The combo of my two interests, dog breeding and agricultural business, resulted in my dream... the creation of Red Spring Farm!
