11/17: All pups had perfect exams :)
Vet Exam Information:
Pups go to the vet tomorrow! Our vet is EXTREMELY thorough, which we love. He makes a point to note everything about each pup after a thorough examination. We describe puppy vet exams in three different ways... perfect, normal, or abnormal.
A perfect exam is what it sounds like, it means that the vet didn't notice anything out of the ordinary, and so no notes are made on that pup's record sheet.
Normal exams are when pups have something worth noting, but these things are not unusual or expected to impact the health of the pup. It is not unusual for puppies to have imperfect exams at this age. They are growing at a rapid pace, and this sometimes results in awkward phases. In fact, sometimes we have more pups in a litter with "normal" exams than "perfect" exams! Normal exam findings will likely either correct themselves with age or need a very simple correction at the time of spay/neuter. Examples of "normal" exams include pups with small under or overbites, small umbilical hernias, "puppy laxity" of the patellas, "innocent" heart murmurs (grade of 1 out of 6) which are expected to go away within a couple vet visits, or missing a testicle (sometimes they don't both "drop" until pups are much older). We will ALWAYS notify you of any such things on the first vet visit, and you are NOT required to take a pup that you do not feel comfortable with due to any "normal" exam finding. We will only allow pups to go home if we feel comfortable that the issue is benign/likely to go away with age.
Abnormal exams are when pups have an exam that concerns us for their long term health. An example of this would be severe patellar luxation (extremely loose knee joints- very different than typical puppy laxity), a loud heart murmur (ex, 4 out of 6), cataracts, etc. In these situations, where the severity of the issue in question may impact their long term health, we "pull" the puppy from the reservation list and they are no longer available until we can either wait for the next exam of have the pup checked by a specialist, depending on the issue. We have been very blessed in that every single pup we have ever had to pull from a list due to an abnormal exam has ended up being just fine and the condition went away with age! Still- we don't let pups go to new homes until we are comfortable that they can live normal, happy lives.

6th Pupdate:
Hello all!
Vet visits for these cuties is scheduled for the afternoon of the 17th.
Red Spring Farm has officially selected Ms. Purple as our "keeper"!
Selection day is tomorrow (11/14)! Please make sure to email me your selection list by 6PM EST. I will keep my computer open and check it periodically throughout the day. Do me a favor- if you email me any questions, please start a NEW email rather than responding to an old one. This will help me see your email a little easier :)
All pups in this litter, thankfully, have a pretty neutral, middle-of-the road temperament. No one stands out as being shy/very reserved, or a "wild child". I had a very difficult time selecting my pick of the litter because they are all so wonderful! All pups will do just fine in about any home situation (homes with kids, active senior adults, doggy siblings, etc).

5th Pupdate:
Hello all! Daisy's sweet litter has had a huge day! I had family in (and therefore a couple extra hands) and I was able to take some gorgeous photos of the pups on their first time playing in the grass and exploring some of the other critters at Red Spring Farm. All pups really enjoyed the excursion and were confident, happy, and playful in the new environment. Yippee! Typically we post Temperament Testing the day before selection day, but we are going to change things up with this litter and post it the week before, especially since personalities are really coming out with these guys and gals. Hopefully this will make your decision feel less rushed.
Normally the "Red Spring Farm" pick puppy is an easy decision for me. Not this time around! I really thought Ms. Lime was our girl last week but (despite Lime being a lovely gal) Ms. Purple is now our front runner. Even with many years of breeding under our belt, selection day is hard for us too!
Mr. Green: 2lb 0oz: This handsome boy was our little adventurer today! He had a blast exploring and smelling everything, but was quick to come running right back the second I called. He is an easy going guy who loves attention but isn't overly needy. His face shape is cute as a button and he perks his little ears and tilts his head when I make kiss noises. We love his white footie socks!
Mr. Red: 2lb 0oz: Talk about puppy eyes- this gorgeous boy will make you melt. He is a happy-go-lucky, cuddle loving guy, both silly and sweet. He knows how to convince about anyone to play, even a tired or grumpy sibling. When he is ready for a nap he will often sleep upside-down with his legs all spread out, or (if on his belly) with his legs out behind him. Classic doodle sleeper!
Mr. Orange: 2lb 3oz: This silly little attention hog will entertain for hours. He is goofy and people oriented, and photogenic to the max. He loves humans and dogs alike and just wants to be everyone's friend!
Mr. Blue: 2lb 6oz: Mr. Blue gets the McDreamy title of the group. Everyone loves this big boy and his sweet face! He is just as beautiful on the inside, with a sweet, easy going and happy temperament. He is stockier built than some of his siblings, so I expect he may land on the larger end of the estimated weight range.
Mr. Black: 2lb 3oz: This cute chunky boy was so excited about and interested in the chickens. He was confident and eager to explore immediately-in fact, he was the 1st one out of the puppy basket today (see photos)! He had a big smile on his face the whole time and once he started getting tired he wanted nothing more than to curl up on my lap.
Ms. Pink: 1lb 9oz: Pink wants nothing more than to share the love! She is the sweetest little thing, eager to please and smart as a whip. She melts when you hold her and will fall asleep upside-down. She will paw at you for attention. She will likely be on the smaller end of the expected weight range (but not as small as little Yellow).
Ms. Lime: 1lb 15oz: This girl has a fantastic build- just look at that perfect square head and blocky frame. She is just as lovely on the inside- playful and sweet. She is expressive and is already mastering manding (aka, sit for attention).
Ms. Yellow: 1lb 4oz: Oh this sweet little baby makes me heart stop. She has definitely gotten a little extra attention due to her size. She loves attention and makes great eye contact for her age.
Ms. Purple: 1lb 15oz: This girl has found her confidence this week! She is an independent girl who can do her own thing away from her littermates (but still checks in for cuddles often).

All A's: This dominant puppy is extremely bright and interactive. Raising him will take concentration, consistency and time and an experienced owner is recommended. They can be extremely rewarding pets for someone who wants to have a highly trained companion or competition dog of some sort (Agility, dock diving, etc).
All N's: Easy going and contained, "All N" puppies will be pleasant and an ideal pet for most families. These middle-of-the-road pups are confident enough that they won't live for their owner's approval and guidance like a "P" puppy would (N pups can be stubborn at times) but they won't be as defiant as an "A" puppy can be.
All P's: This puppy has a weak self-esteem and needs your reassurance to feel safe. Without proper lessons and socialization, he'll be shy. With proper socializing, "P" pups can "built up" to make excellent family dogs and tend to be very attached to their owners.
Mix of A and N's: This active puppy will want to be in the middle of everything but will show more impulse control when stimulated than an all "A" puppy. "A/N" puppies are great for loud/active families that want a pup with lots of personality and confidence, but that are not nearly as intense as "all A" puppies.
Mix of N and P's: This self-assured puppy will be easygoing and gentle yet with a stronger sense of self than a completely passive puppy. Because he's more composed, he'll be an ideal puppy for a calm household.

Important Information below- please read thoroughly and mark dates in your calendar!!!
1) Selection Day
Puppy selections are done remotely (NOT in person) in the order of the reservation list. This litter's selection day is on Saturday, November 14th.
To make your selection, your family must create a list from your first pick puppy to last pick puppy from all of the puppies in this litter. You must email it to me no later than 6PM on selection day (November 14th). Pupdates, photos, videos, and 5 week temperament testing is provided on this page to help you with your decision, and of course I am available to discuss any additional questions. Please try to email me any questions by Friday evening so that I have time Saturday to respond to everyone (if you have lots of questions, do not hesitate to number them and shoot them all to me in one email, then I can knock them all out at once)!
I will begin at the 1st family on the reservation list, assign them the next available puppy that is highest on their selection list, and then move on to the next family's list and repeat the process. I will continue in this manner until everyone has a puppy.
If you fail to submit your selection list and cannot be contacted via the phone number submitted on your application, this will result in your name being moved to the bottom of the reservation list. This date is posted well in advance above, and it is your responsibility to reach out to us with your decision!
2) Final Payments/Contracts
We only accept deposits online. Final payments ($2800) are to be paid in full via check and mailed to our home (no online or bank-to-bank transactions, sorry). I will fill out all the puppy information, spay neuter dates, etc. sign it, and provide you with a completed copy at puppy pickup in your go-home folder.
4th Pupdate:
Oh boy, look at these sweet babies motor all around their pen! We have tried to introduce toys to Daisy's puppies this week, but Daisy is now determined to take the toys out of them pen for herself (a bit of a switch from the 2 week pupdate, HA. Mommy deserves playtime too)! Ms. Yellow's little paws are still a bit small for even our tiniest puppy potty rack, so we will be adding the potty tray to the pen as soon as her sweet little paws don't fall through. Still, pups are venturing off of their little bed to potty, which is a huge step in the right direction.
This litter is a very pleasant one, their size (except for the two smaller girls, Pink and Yellow) is very consistent across the board and so is temperament at this point. Everyone seems to be pretty "neutral," no one is amped up or overly timid. This was the easiest picture day EVER because they just relax in our hands. Their personality is just starting to blossom and will develop a lot more in the coming week. Keep in mind that these beautiful babies are still babies, so personality traits at this point are comparable to personality traits in an 18-month old human toddler... subject to change!
Mr. Green: 1lb 11oz: This calm "dood" has a lovely, middle of the road demeanor. Though play time is fun, he has a slight preference for cuddles and will fall asleep with you stroking his head.
Mr. Red: 1lb 12oz: This little guy is so expressive and makes the best eye contact during cuddle time, those puppy eyes will melt your soul! He is eager to be with people and likes exploring new things.
Mr. Orange: 1lb 14oz: I am pretty sure this guy has his own fan club- everyone loves to watch the spotted pup on camera! His big, goofy personality makes this boy a blast. He loves to eat and is the first one to pounce on mommy when she comes in to feet the babies. In the morning, he is the first to the edge of the pen to say "hi" to me!
Mr. Blue: 2lb 1oz: What a roly poly boy this fella is! He is the biggest in the bunch and very sweet. Despite being the largest, he has a passive temperament and prefers calm cuddles to rough-housing. He has a beautiful, blocky head.
Mr. Black: 1lb 15oz: This sweet guy has the most innocent little face! I want to eat him up every time I see him. He is a goofball that likes to eat, and tries to nurse on my fingers (and nose, and ears) during cuddle time.
Ms. Pink: 1lb 7oz: Catching up to the others, but still a little smaller, Ms. Pink is an easy going, serious baby- but her silly streak is coming out more and more often. She likes to paw at you like she has hands during playtime.
Ms. Lime: 1lb 12oz: This chunky gal is Red Spring Farm's current 1st running pup (this could change)! She has an easy going, middle of the road temperament and blocky build.
Ms. Yellow: 1lb 2oz: This little girl is sweet and sassy. She has to work a little harder than her larger siblings to get a good spot at this "milk bar" and this has helped develop a can-do attitude! She doesn't give up when she wants something and is quite an agile mover already. Like most of the pups, she is a cuddler and walks towards your hands.
Ms. Purple: 1lb 12oz: This sweet gal is a passive cuddler. She prefers calm cuddle time to rough-housing and has a very sweet, expressive face.

3rd Pupdate:
Babies are growing quickly! Eyes and ears are open, and pups are starting to explore the world around them. We had a couple escapees from the infant pool on Wednesday and Thursday, which escalated to a full-blown jail break on Friday. We took advantage for the beautiful day to take the pups outside while I did some yardwork (in a laundry basket). Daisy loved hanging out under the shade trees and I think the pups enjoyed the fresh air and new scents. This coming week is a big one, we will be adding the potty tray to their pen by this time next week and enjoying short periods of play outside of the pen in our puppy room.

2nd Pupdate:
These beautiful sweethearts are growing in leaps and bounds and they are starting to peep out at the world (eyes are opening)! Daisy, as always, is a natural mom. She wants to bring them snuggle puppies, blankets, and stuffed animals. She is struggling to keep her weight up with all of these babies nursing (which is normal) so she has been getting "satin balls," a couple times a day along with her kibble. She loves it!

1st Pupdate:
Daisy is such an attentive mother- we are so proud of her. Each pup is fat and happy, nursing well, and growing quickly. We have opted NOT to put ID collars on these little ones yet for their safety, as Daisy wants to pull them off. Make sure to take a look at this week's collage at the litter gallery button above. I will be sending an email out to all families on this list on Monday.

October 5th 2020 - Happy Birthday!
Daisy gave birth to 9 healthy puppies this afternoon!!! Mom and pups are doing well. 5 Boys and 4 Girls. We got lots of curl in this litter (with these parents, each pup had a 50% chance of being curly or wavy). We got 1 adorable parti boy- he will be easy to "spot"! The rest are red/apricot to dark gold in color, some have white markings on their chest, toes, and/or forehead. 1 curly girl had a full blaze. All are precious!!!
The Puppy Cam will start streaming tomorrow (10/6) afternoon and individual photos will be posted tomorrow afternoon as well. I took a quick photo of the girls and boys with my cell phone so that you don't have to go to bed wondering what they look like!
***Please note that we will NOT be assigning the extra spots to anyone until after Sadie delivers mid-Oct. Please do not email me asking if they are available. To be fair to everyone, we will be reaching out to families on our reservation list in the order that deposits were made when we place the final 2.
