Opie is a started puppy (really a "teenager") that is eagerly waiting for his perfect family. We expect that Opie will be 30-35lb once he "fills out," with a lean, athletic frame and looong legs. His favorite activity is to romp and wrestle in our fenced yard with his canine buddies. Opie will best thrive in a home with another playful dog, and a fenced yard. Opie sleeps happily in his crate all night, and hops in without a fuss for meals and "naps" during the day. He is well on his way to being fully housebroken.
While older pups are easier in many ways, it does take longer for them to transition to a new home. Opie is a cuddly class clown, but he is also a typical sensitive doodle (part of what makes him SO endearing). He forms tight bonds with his people, and his future family must recognize that transitioning to a new home will be tough for Opie. He will miss us dearly and it may be a couple weeks for his sweet, goofy personality to shine.
When we have an older pup like Opie, our priority is to place him with his best fit rather than the first applicant. Unless a special circumstance arises, we generally ask interested parties to be within driving distance so a trial period is possible.
