7th Pupdate -02/07/2020

Congratulations everyone! You have made it to puppy selection weekend. I MUST RECEIVE YOUR PUPPY SELECTION LIST VIA EMAIL BY 6PM 02/08!!!! As you work on your puppy selection day list, I urge you to email me any questions/concerns ASAP (ideally, this evening (2/7) rather than tomorrow). More information about puppy selection day:

Puppy selections are done remotely (NOT in person) in the order of the reservation list. Selections take place the day after all of the puppies go to their first vet exam so that we will know of any health concerns prior to your decision. This (combination) litter's selection day is on Saturday, February the 8th.

To make your selection, your family must create a list from your first pick puppy to last pick puppy from all of the puppies in this litter. You must email it to me no later than 6PM on selection day (February 8th). P
updates, photos, videos, vet exam results, and temperament testing is provided on this page to help you with your decision, and of course I am available to discuss any additional questions at any time. Please try to email me any questions by early so that I have time to respond to everyone (if you have lots of questions, do not hesitate to number them and shoot them all to me in one email, then I can knock them all out at once)! I will NOT be available from 1PM-4PM on 02/08.

I will begin at the 1st family on the reservation list, assign them the next available puppy that is highest on their selection list, and then move on to the next family's list and repeat the process. I will continue in this manner until everyone has a puppy.

If you fail to submit your selection list and cannot be contacted via the phone number submitted on your application, this will result in your name being moved to the bottom of the reservation list. This date is posted well in advance above, and it is your responsibility to reach out to us with your decision!

PUPDATE/VET INFORMATION:

Harper's Ms. Violet: This sweet girl is great for a family who wants an intelligent pup. She is independent enough to do her own thing within the litter, but craves human attention and has a nice middle-of-the-road temperament. This girl had a perfect vet exam. This girl had a normal vet exam for a pup her age, but not "perfect". She has a teeny underbite. This is extremely common in pups her age. In fact, it may even correct itself in the coming weeks (I suspect it might). Either way, she will live a perfectly normal life, and if this was never pointed out, you probably would never know! If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out, HOWEVER, we will be notifying the family assigned this girl before we post the selection list to discuss this and make sure everyone is comfortable before we proceed. If you already know that this puppy is not an option for you due to this finding, please put it at the bottom of your selection list. 5lbs 7oz

Harper's Ms. Yellow:  This  silly girl is super confident and playful! She has a happy wagging tail and wants to be everyone's friend. This girl had a perfect vet exam. 5lbs 3oz

Harper's Mr. Blue: This handsome hunk is confident and the first to meet you at the puppy fence! He absolutely loves human attention and interaction, he is going to be a your shadow! This boy had a normal vet exam for a pup his age, but not "perfect". He has a small underbite. This is extremely common in pups his age and could even correct itself in the coming weeks. Either way, he will live a perfectly normal life, and if this was never pointed out, you probably would never know! When I pointed this out to our vet, he said "ah, well, it just gives him a little character"! 5lbs 4oz

Harper's Ms. Pink:  What a sweet little girl this cutie is! She has a nice middle-of-the-road temperament, not overly confident or overly reserved. She gets along with everyone, and is a tail wagger and a nose kisser. This girl had a perfect vet exam. 4lbs 1oz

Harper's Mr. Green:  This guy is stylish to the MAX! He has a very well built body and floats when he trots around the puppy pen. He is confident, elegant, and just an overall handsome puppy. He enjoys the company of both people and other dogs, and is often caught sleeping upside-down. Similar personality to Mr. Blue. This boy had a perfect vet exam. 5lbs 4oz

Harper's Ms. Orange: This little sweetie is a food motivated chunky monkey (must have inherited that from the retrievers in her heritage). She has a middle of the road personality within the litter and is goofy. She loves playtime with other puppies! This girl had a perfect vet exam. 5lbs 10oz

Lucy's Ms. Lavender: This little gal is peppy and playful with her siblings, but lacks confidence when interacting with loud or new people (she is so teeny, we must be a bit scary)! She is all kisses once she realizes that you are a friend, and is hilarious when playing with her siblings (she "punches" them)! This girl had a perfect vet exam. 2lbs 3oz

Lucy's Ms. Gold: This pretty girl has a little retriever face- how cute! She has a lovely middle of the road temperament within the litter. She likes to be cuddled for a few minutes, but then is ready to get into mischief with her littermates! This girl had a perfect vet exam. 2lbs 15oz

Lucy's Mr. Navy: This sweet boy is the smallest male and will likely be on the lower half of the estimated weight range. Like most smaller-sized puppies in a litter, he is not the most confident in the litter, but he has a sweet, gentle demeanor and is happy and playful when he is pulled aside for one on one time. He is happy to play with his siblings, but prefers the ones closer to his size (he is smart enough to avoids being bullied)! This boy has a great little teddy bear face! This boy had a perfect vet exam for a puppy  his age. He has only 1 descended testicle, however, some pups don't have both testicles descend until they are 4-6 months old, therefore, he is normal for his age. 3lbs 0oz

Lucy's Ms. Magenta: What a little gem! This little one is the smallest in the litter and marches to the beat of her own drum. She is clever enough to wiggle under their play-slides and will play shark/ankle biter with her siblings! She is sweet and loving. This girl had a perfect vet exam (with the exception of her special need)! 2lbs 3oz

Lucy's Ms. Lime: This beautiful girl is intelligent and thoughtful, and a little bit serious at times. She is independent enough to do her own thing, and though she loves playing with her siblings, I suspect she will really love human companionship like her mommy, Harper. She has a very thick, plush coat! This girl had a perfect vet exam. 3lbs 4oz

Lucy's Mr. Red: Something about Mr. Red just makes me want to boop his nose and give him a cuddle! He is a goofy guy with a nice easy-going personality. He gets along with everyone and is a happy guy with a handsome blocky head. This boy had a perfect vet exam. 4lbs 2oz

Lucy's Ms. Grey: This sweetie is very feminine and elegant! She has gained confidence and really come out of her shell in the last week, wanting to greet me at the fence with a tail wag and a bat of her paw. Once she greets me and gets 1 cuddle, she is ready to go back to playtime and doing her own thing.
This girl had a perfect vet exam. 3lbs 10oz

Lucy's Ms. Aqua: This sweet girl has gotten a little more serious than the previous weeks. She has a middle of the road temperament which leans a little on the reserved side (for now), though I expect this is just a phase, as she has a silly streak and I expect she will be quite the goofball as she gets older. She LOVES canine companionship and is quiet and gentle when being cuddled.  This girl had a normal vet exam for a pup her age, but it was not "perfect". She had a grade 1 (lowest grade) heart murmur. Just as in human infants, it is common to see low grade heart murmurs in young puppies. We suspect that this is a benign puppy murmur, which occurs when a puppy is growing at such a rapid rate at that it has an awkward period of growth. 3lbs 7oz

Lucy's Ms. Black: This big goofy girl is the epitome of a gentle giant. She is happy, easy going, and just a plain sweet! She has an insanely expressive face that really shows how she is feeling (something about those puppy eyes). This girl had a perfect vet exam. 3lbs 15oz

All A's: This dominant puppy is bright and interactive. Raising him will take
concentration, consistency and time. His favorite expression is "What's Next!"

All N's: Easy going and contained, this puppy will be pleasant and self-assured, though
perhaps not terribly motivated to follow your agenda when it conflicts with his own. His
favorite expression is "Is it absolutely necessary?"

All P's: This puppy has a weak self-esteem and needs your reassurance to feel safe.
Without proper lessons and socialization, he'll be shy. His favorite expression: "It's been
3 minutes, do you still love me?"

Mix of A and N's: This active puppy will want to be in the middle of everything but will
show slightly more impulse control when stimulated. His favorite expression is: "Let's do
it again"

Mix of N and P's: This self-assured puppy will be easygoing and gentle yet with a
stronger sense of self than a completely passive puppy. Because he's more composed,
he'll be an ideal puppy for a calm house with or without older children.
Favorite expression: "Another back scratching please!"

Here comes selection day! February 8th

Pupdates, photos, videos, vet exam results, and temperament testing is provided on this page to help you with your decision, and of course I am available to discuss any additional questions at any time. Please try to email me any questions by early Saturday morning so that I have time Saturday to respond to everyone (if you have lots of questions, do not hesitate to number them and shoot them all to me in one email, then I can knock them all out at once)!

6th Pupdate -01/31/2020

Wow! What an exciting time! To "help" mommies wean their pups, we put both litters together. All those pups can be overwhelming and that encourages Harper and Lucy to avoid excess nursing time with the babies. Both litters are well on their way to being weaned, everyone is eating kibble and this week they will get 4 daily meals and full access to water. We will also be turning on our "big playpen" camera Saturday afternoon- we are SO excited to share it with you! Puppies will be rotated between a "sleeping pen" and the big playpen. The sleeping pen is a little cramped, but that serves a purpose. Similar to crate training, we want to keep the space small so that there is a clear sleeping/eating area and pooping area. This way, when they are in the big playpen, they will continue to use their designated potty spot and they will be MUCH easier to house train when they join your family. Vet visits are this week (on Wednesday and Friday), and temperament testing will be posted at that time. Stay tuned Monday for information about puppy selection day.

A friendly reminder- if you want to pay via check rather than cash on pickup day, PLEASE send that check now. We will not send puppies home until it clears, so it must ARRIVE at our location by puppy selection day (2/8).

Harper's Ms. Violet: This girl reminds me of her mommy! She is smart and intuitive, patient and loving. 4lbs 10oz
Harper's Ms. Yellow:  This goofy girl is outgoing to the max, she loves everyone (4 legged or 2 legged) and wants to be right in the middle of all the activity. 4lbs 4oz

Lucy's Mr. Navy: Oh my goodness those EYES! A beautiful little boy who wants a family that will spoil him with cuddles. 2lbs 8oz

Lucy's Ms. Grey: This sweet girl is an old soul! She is thoughtful about what she does, but has a playful streak and is very sweet to all her siblings, even the smaller ones. 3lbs 2oz
Lucy's Ms. Aqua: This gal is a total goofball, always on the go, playing with other dogs, puppies, or people. 2lbs 12oz
Lucy's Ms. Black: This big gal doesn't know her size, she is naturally submissive and prefers to be a follower rather than a leader. Once she decides that you are a friend, she won't leave your side! 3lbs 7oz

5th Pupdate -01/24/2020

Lucy's Mr. Red: Social, Confident, Likes People!
Lucy's Ms. Grey: Relaxed, thoughtful pup, sweet and gentle

Lucy's Ms. Black: Gentle giant! Takes her time exploring new things, food motivated already!

4th Pupdate -01/17/2020

It is official! Both litters are now in the doggy room- not longer tucked in a quiet corner of the house, they are being exposed to all sorts of sounds and smells. We will start teaching them to potty in a specific area this week to help keep their pen tidy and sanitary in the coming weeks. Everyone is gaining rapidly and both moms are doing very well!

*** We recommend that you not compare weights between the two litters until they are older (6-7 weeks of age). There is no significant correlation between weights at this age and adult size. Lucy's litter was born a few days after Harper's, and it is also normal for litters with more puppies to be smaller in size the first few weeks than litters with fewer puppies.

2nd Pupdate -01/04/2020

Mommies and babies are doing well! Growing fast and spending a lot of time at the "milk bar"! Both moms have settled into their daily routines nicely.

1st Pupdate -12/27/2019

Well it has been a whirlwind of a week, but everyone has finally settled down and doing very well!

Harper is a fabulous mommy and has adjusted to the role wonderfully. Lucy (who delivered  most recently) is an extremely attentive mommy... she seems to keep "count" and gets stressed if we take one of her pups from her, even if it is just for a second. Luckily today (day 3) she has settled down and is more tolerant of us handing puppies without too much fussing. Both mommies are a little embarrassed by their short haircuts, but appreciative not to have to worry about grooming while raising babies. It also keeps them cool (all those babies piled next to you gets HOT) and helps me to keep an eye on their body condition in the coming weeks, as dogs lose weight while nursing and these two gals are naturally very lean to start with.

Please triple check the coat types listed next to the puppies on the "Happy Birthday" posts. A couple of Harper's pups are looking to be a little curlier than when they were born so the descriptions have been adjusted accordingly.
